Just another weird dude in the woods! I first gained my appreciation on nature and the outdoors through summer trips to New York’s Adirondacks mountains with my father. We spent many weekends hiking, camping, canoeing, and enjoying campfires; the essential ingredients needed for molding a nature nut.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Science in 2006 from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry I spent the next 13 years working various wildlife field jobs around the country. Along the way I became more serious about birding and photography. These casual hobbies became more serious in a professional way.

In 2015 I started a short career working with Spotted Owls in northern California, the Sierras, and finally Yosemite National Park. To say it was a dream come true is not an overstatement. Over this period of time I was influenced by amazing and talented people and friends, and developed more photography skills and techniques. Along way and between field seasons I traveled to many national parks and forests in the Pacific Northwest, crossing off items on the bucket list.

Currently I am working as a Wildlife Technician with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, a position that has been a goal since my undergrad days. Now that I’ve finally made it into this agency I am looking to stay with it as long as I can. Until then I still plan on getting out into nature to go hiking, paddling, camping, birding, or whatever outdoor adventure comes my way, and if I can bring the camera with me to capture memorable moments to share with you, I will. Part of the mission of conservation is fostering a passion for it in others. I hope your spark of passion for our natural world ignites a little bit somewhere in my galleries. Thank you, and remember; take only pictures and leave only footprints.
